A) QUALIFICATION
1 | To join the European Talent Competition in the categories film music composition and sound design you have to be an active student in the field of sound design or composition at an European film and / or music school
2 | To join the Skoda Sound Track Award you have to be a German Talent under the age of 24, who has not finished his/her studies yet. You do not necessarily have to be a student.
3 | You have to attend SoundTrack_Cologne 2.0 from 26th to 28th of August.
B) APPLICATION
Your application for the SoundTrack_Cologne 2.0 competition will only be processed if you
a) fill in the Application Form correctly and fully in English.
b) study in the areas of editing, sound design, composing, music - except Skoda Sound Track Award, see A) 2.
c) have sent in a complete application containing your vita and photography
d) have read and accepted our participation conditions and the students' set of rules as stated below.
C) STUDENTS - SET OF RULES
there are no rules - except:
1. create your own sounds !
2. create your own music !
3. create your own "audiosphere" in relation to the visual world of the film!
4. in the end it is your own interpretation !
5. no compilation or usage of archived music is allowed !
6. in an ideal world composer and sound designer work together !
7. that does not mean that you can not work on your own
8. send your soundtrack as an audio-file to the Office of
SoundTrack_Cologne 2.0 c/o Televisor Gmbh, Quentelstrasse 5-7, 50678 Cologne, Germany, until August 19th, 2005
9. send your work together with your curriculum vitae and photography of yourself
10. You can also submit your sound work as an mp3-file: also attach your digital foto and vita and send it to matthias@soundtrackcologne.de
D) Further Regulations
SoundTrack_Cologne is the organiser of the competition "New Sound in European Film: European Film Music Prize 2005" which will take place during SoundTrack_Cologne 2.0. The contestant will participate in the competition and will, within this context, create a new soundtrack (music / special effects / speech) for one of the following films:

- known in the following as the subject of the contract -
Article 1 - Transfer of Right of Use
1.1
The contestant permits SoundTrack_Cologne to
a) perform,
b) broadcast,
c) archive,
d) and in small quantities for non-commercial distribution to copy on DVD
the subject of the contract which has been processed by him during the competition as well as the documentation of the competition.
1.2.
If the version of the film processed by the contestant wins an award the contestant is entitled to use this version for personal non-commercial promotional purposes (Show Reel, application documents etc.) in conjunction with the following credits: "The film "title of film" processed during the young professionals' competition "New Sound in European Film: European Film Music Prize 2005" is used with kind permission of the owner of the rights"
1.3.
Every other use of the subject of the contract in its original version or in the relevant processed version is subject to the permission of the holder of the rights in each case.
Article 2 - Remuneration
The contestant will receive no payment for activities carried out within the context of this contract.
Article 3 - Further Provisions
This contract shall be construed and enforced according to the laws of the German Federal Republic. No subsidiary verbal agreements have been reached. Changes and amendments to this contract must be acknowledged in writing by both parties.
If any part of this contract is found to be partly or totally invalid or unenforceable by a court of law the validity of the remaining sections shall not be affected.
